Imagine that Kenneth Young had been tried and convicted as a juvenile. What should we do with youth who commit serious crimes? How should developmental factors be considered when determining ways to hold accountable youth who have been convicted of serious crimes?

I think it depends on the crimes they commit and the reason behind it. They should be put unit with others youths because if they were put with the adults i think they would get beat up.

i think that if your under 18 you need to be in juvenile with kids 18 and under . if children were to get locked up with adults i believe they would get beat up and even killed . for children 18 and under i believe they need to be put in a facilty where there are only kids that have commited crimes as bad as them . They would get less oppurtunities to have fun , or make friends , or have a decent life in prison .

I feel that if your under 18 yo should be with teenagers and if your 18 and over your should be with the adults .if children are locked up with adults the adults can beat on the kids or killed i think it should just be devivded by age 17 and under and 18 and older

i believe they should be kept with other youths depending on the crime and get some counciling, but as soon as they are 18 they get transferred to the adult prison.

The youth who commit more serious crimes like murder should be tried as an adult. The factors that should be considered are the evidence, witnesses and facts in the case.

In the case of Kenneth he didn't have proper guidance as a child with his mother hardly being there and his sister working to feed her child. So if Kenneth was tried as an juvenile they would've been used this to get a shorter sentence and give him the guidance he needs.

anyone under 18 should be placed in juvie with people in the age span rather than being placed in prison with adults who are bigger than them and far more dangerous than them

I would keep them in juvenile and when they are 18 they would go to prison for life.

I believe that the age should change from 18 to 21 to be tried as an adult. having minors in with grown men or women is dangerous because theres a larger chance of the minor being harmed, raped, ect. we should have special facilities for kids who commit serious crimes. in this facility they will be given the opportunity to get thier education while their there and depending on thier behavior they may be released when they turn 21 to start a new life.

i think it depends on the crime and his age but if the crime is bad and if hes 18 i think he should be sent to a jail but if hes under and of the crime is not that bad then he should be sent to a juvenille

To my perspective, I believe adolescents should be rehabilitated in an inpatients crisis therapy unit instead of straight going to jail. At this age they're mentally unstable.

Childhood should be a big factor on why juveniles commit crimes. If there was no parent involved in their life then they obviously don't know right from wrong.

To me,it depends on the kind of crimes the juvenile have committed and the reason why they did it. Teenagers ages 13 and up, should be put in the youth unit until they're 18 to be placed with the older people.
