List all the ways you can think of that u.s. law distinguishes between adults and minors (e.g., needing to be 18 or older to sign a lease or join the military or purchase alcohol)? Given all the distinctions on your list, why do you think we are more willing to treat youth the same as adults when it comes to criminal justice issues?

Minors have a curfew, must have medical forums or paperwork signed by legal gaurdian, cant purchase alcohol or tobacco, not allowed in hookah lounges or bars, and must be enrolled in school until the age of 18. i dont believe children should be tried as adults if they dont have full control over thier own lives

minors do not have the same responsibilities nor the same rights that adults do so why should they be tried as adults?

Minors are not allowed to serve their sentence in prison until the age of 18,another thing is adults can get life in prison and the death penalty, last minors have curfews, have to attend school, kids dont really have adult privalleges or responsibilities thats why they shouldnt be sentence like adults.

An adult can drink alcohol, go to bars and vote. Minors can't do these things. There is no reason why adults and minors should be sentenced the same.

Minors who commit crime, their crimes aren't considered crime until they reach a certain level of severity. I think trying a juvenile as an adult should only happen in case of murder or other severe crimes involving injuring other people.

Minors are not allowed out after 10 pm,minors cant drink, smoke, go to strip clubs. The law wants to scare other teenagers into behaving by harshly punishing teens that break the law.

Minors don´t have the same rights as adults and you have to be over 18 to do most things like own weapons, buy alcohol, and be out past 10pm .So kids should´nt be tried as adults.

Minors have curfew at 11:00. They can not buy any alcohol until they turn 18. They aren't allowed to drink or smoke at a young age.

minors have a curfew , and cannot purchase alchohol. Adults can purchase alchohol in stores with ID and can be out at any time of the night.
