I learned that when evaluating a sentence for a case you have to look at every persons point of view in the crime. You also have to be aware of what the prisoner has done to change .

I learned that the justice system isn't fair for juveniles. It made me realize that the judges don't care about whether the prisoner is rehabilitated. They already made up their mind before listening to the case and only care about the facts.

It showed a big flaw in the juvenile justice system. This flaw being children given overly excessive sentences for crimes they were forced into doing. Like Kenneth Young's case he really shouldn't have been given 4 consecutive life sentences for robbery he was forced to do because his family was being threatened.

I learned that justice (which is supposed to be blind) can be twisted and warped in any way by the ones on power to satisfy thier own beliefs.

I've learned form this case is that the judge shows no sympathy to a criminal and doesn't care if he dies in prison or survives in prison.

I learned from this film that there still is racial discrimination in our society. As we saw in Kenneths case he recieved 4 consecutive life sentences before his resentence. He didn´t murder anyone and during the robberies he was only an accomplice. Even thou his resentence was way less than his original sentence he didnt deserve 30 more years in prison.

I've learned that the judge doesn't care about any emotion you have during the court trial. All, he wants to know is what happened during the crime and why they did it.
